Albion under 15 at Stirling.
Hawick Albion under 15's travelled up to Stirling to play a round robin with Stirling and Dunnfrferline on Sunday 15th Nov.
First up for Albion saw the hosts Stirling and this proved a very hard game for both sides.Once again Stirling just shaded this encounter by 3 trys to nil.Stirling scored two trys in the first half through their very speedy back line but some poor tackling by the Hawick boys did not help. After some stern words from the coaches the Albion showed a big improvement in the second half and if they had just took the right option they could have scored a couple of trys themselves.Just before the end Stiring took play up into the Albion 22 and with some good driving by the forwards their prop forward dived over for the final try which was also converted.
FINAL SCORE STIRLING.....17 ALBION....0
Albion played Dunfermline next in what proved another hard game with both sides giving their all. This was a much improved performance by the Albion with the forwards getting to the breakdown quicker and working harder for any loose ball and the backs running stronger and putting in first time tackles.First blood went to Dunfermline after some good play resulted in one of their lock forwards going over for the first try the conversion was missed. This is when the heads could have went down but they did'nt and the Albion started to play the kind of rugby they were playing at the start of the season with forwards and backs combining well.Albion worked their way up into the 22 and a great run by Finlay Simpson gave the Albion their first points of the day,the conversion was missed.
HALF TIME ALBION....5 DUNFERMLINE....5
The second half was again a close contest with both teams going for the winning score and both teams had their chances but some big tackles in defence kept the scores tied. After some presure from the Albion on the Dunfermline line the ball was shipped along the back line for Sefan Voinea to go over for his first try for the Albion the conversion was goaled by Correy Wilson.
FULL TIME ALBION....12 DUNFERMLINE....5
A BETTER PERFORMANCE BY THE ALBION BUT THEY MUST PUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING IN TRAINING INTO GAME TIME AND SOME BOYS STILL NEED TO GROW UP AND START THINKING ABOUT THE RUGBY AND CONCENTRATE ON WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
ALBION TOO POWERFUL FOR GALA.

Albion Under 15's played local rivals Gala in the national cup on sunday on the Volunteer park
we also played for the Tom Law Cup which is played for every year between these teams at this age group.
Albion took time to settle in this cup game and Gala were making life hard for the Hawick boys to start with but after 10 mins Albion captain Gavin Blair ran strongly for the first try of the game the conversion was missed. This was just what the Albion needed and they started to play some great rugby with both forwards and backs combining well.Kirk Ford was next to go over for a good score and Corey Wilson added the extra points. The forwards then took control and gave the backs some good ball for them to work with, which resulted in Sam Bandeen running in his first of the game Corey again adding the extras. Before half-time Finlay Simpson,Andrew Baillie and Sam Bandeen again went over for trys.

HALF-TIME ALBION....34 GALA....0
The Albion brought on their subs for the second half but it did not weaken them it just showed the strength the Albion has at this age group and the flood gates opened with trys coming from all over the pitch.Sam Bandeen went over for two quick scores to complete his hat-trick both conversions were missed.Give Gala credit they never gave up and
kept trying to play rugby but they could not stop the Hawick boys and Corey Wilson and Finlay Simpson went over for trys but again the extra points were missed.Matty Douglas was next to score when he ran strongly up the middle and went in under the posts he also converted his try.Andrew Baillie was next to go over Matty again adding the extras. It was all Albion who were playing some great rugby and it was Matty who went over for the next try again he converted. The albion forwards then made ground into the Gala 22 and the ball was shipped to Gareth Renwick who darted over for the final score.
Well done to both teams for playing some good rugby on a wet day.

ALBION TOO STRONG FOR HADDINGTON
Hawick Abion under 15's entertained Haddington on Sunday 11th October at Wilton Lodge Park in a leage game which proved to be a one sided game.
Albion took to the field with a strong side and it was not long before they crossed for the first try of the game when Gavin Blair broke from a ruck to go over in the corner Matty Douglas adding the extra points with a good kick from the touch line.Ross Graham was next to go over with Matty again adding the extra points. Some great play with forwards and backs combining resulted in Sam Bandeen going over for his first of the day,Matty missing this coversion. Before half-time Kirk Ford,Ross Graham,Sam Bandeen and Matty went over for further scores with Matty converting one.
HALF- TIME ALBION 41 HADDINGTON 0
The Albion made changes at half time but this did not disrupt the Albion and they were soon on the attack again and Sam Bandeen was again on the end of some good handling and went in under the posts for Ryan Brady to convert.Give Haddington credit they did not let their heads go down and kept giving their all but they just could not put any pressure on the home try line. The Southfield destroyer then ran in his fourth and Albions 9th try of the game the conversion being missed.
Aaron Hogg who came on at half time then ran 1 metre to get his name on the score sheet then came over and asked the coaches if he could get a breather!(know way Aaron was told and he then went on to play quite well).Kirk Ford kicked the conversion.Next to go over was Aaron Hume who broke through a crowd of players the conversion was missed. The second half was cut short but the Albion's new flying winger Ross Graham went over for his 3rd score of the game with the conversion being missed.

Hawick Albion Under 15's played Kelso Under 15's in the National Cup on Sunday 4th October at Wilton Lodge Park.
Hawick Albion just got a team together for this game as there were a few boys down with the flu but we got a team on the park thanks to Stuart Maxwell,Macauley Trotter and Jordan Hyslop from the s2 squad
(thanks Dougie). From the kick off the both teams were playing some good rugby and after 5 mins it was the Albion who opened the scoring when Ross Lothian went over for the first try,the conversion was sent wide. After some pressure from Kelso they were awarded a penalty and went for the posts,Ali Johnstone missed the kick but the Albion failed to clear their line and from the resulting scrum their centre went over for a try the conversion was missed. After the restart the Albion forwards took play up into the Kelso 22 and Aaron Hume broke through a crowd of players to go in for a try which Matty Douglas converted.
Play was going from end to end with both teams playing some good rugby but the ball was worked out to Matty who went over for another good try from the Albion,Matty converting his own try.A fine break by the Kelso danger man Ali Johnstone resulted in him going over for a great score which he also converted.
Robbie McFarlane was next to go over for a try after good work by both forwards and backs Matty again adding the extra points.
HALF TIME ALBION 26 KELSO 12
Kelso started the better in the second half and it was their centre who went over for another try with Ali again converting. The Albion were told to buck up and start playing and this they did as it was one way trafic from here on in.Ross Lothian went over for 2 consecutive trys with Matty converting one then Glen Welsh bulldozed his way over with Matty again converting. The Denholm destroyer then went over for his 4th try of the game with Matty adding the extra points.A fine break by Matty from inside his own half gave him his second of the game but he missed the conversion.Albions last try must be the try of the game,a break from inside the Albions 22 by Samual Torbet up to the half way line he was then tackled but of loaded to the ever present Gavin Blair who ran the rest of the pitch up the touch line to score a superb
try,Matty missed the conversion.Kelso then went over for the last try of the game but the conversion was missed.
FULL TIME ALBION 62 KELSO 24
A GOOD WIN FOR THE ALBION BUT THEY MUST CONTROL THEIR DISAPLINE AND NOT SPEAK BACK TO THE REFEREE AND CUT OUT THE SWEARING.
ALL THREE S2 BOYS DONE WELL AND DID NOT LOOK OUT OF PLACE IN THE TEAM WELL DONE BOYS.
